Frequently asked questions

How the app works, what it costs, and what happens to your data. If something is not covered here, email [email protected] with your question.

Getting started

›What does the app do?

It takes the main photo of each product in your store and generates new images from it: your product worn or held by a person, on a clean studio background, in a lifestyle scene, as a flatlay, in use, or against a background you describe. You then publish the images you like straight to your products.

›Do I need to upload anything?

No. The app uses the main photo of each product already in your store. Uploading is optional, and only applies if you want to use your own model photo instead of one of the built-in characters.

›Do I need photography or prompting skills?

No. Pick a product, pick a style, and generate. The app builds the prompt for you from the product's details in your store (title, description, category and similar) and the settings you chose. If you want more control, you can add your own instructions in the prompt field.

›How many products can I do at once?

The Bulk Generate page lists your store's products one page at a time, 25 or 50 per page (you choose). That is how the list is shown, not a limit on a run. Generate all makes images for every product the filters select, on all pages and not only the page on screen, up to 2,000 products in one run. Its label gives the count and the credit price, and it does not depend on which rows are ticked.

Before anything is charged, a confirmation shows products × images × price. For a run over several pages that is the most it can cost, because a product without a main photo is only found out when it is read; such a product is skipped and not charged, and a run that could cost more than your balance cannot start. Each image is charged when it is started, and if your credits run out part-way the run stops there.

When everything the filters select fits on the page you are on, the page runs it in place and each row shows its own progress. A run over several pages shows a progress bar with a Stop button; Stop ends the starting of new products, and images that were already started still finish. When a run ends, Show results reloads the list so the new images appear in their rows.

To run only some products, tick their rows: a Generate button for the ticked rows appears above the table, and each ticked row uses its own preset, size and character. Generate all always uses the toolbar's settings for every product it covers.

›What do the Done, Empty and category filters do?

The Status filter applies to your whole store before it is split into pages. When Result or Category is set, the app reads only the first 2,000 products that the Status filter lets through (fewer if reading them takes too long), so a product beyond that is not found by those two filters, and the count and the pages cover only what was read. When a list is cut short, the page says how many products the filters cover. Done means the product has at least one saved image made by the app, and Empty means it has none. A run covers at most 2,000 products. If your store has more, the table still lists the rest page by page while Result and Category are set to All, and you can tick rows there; the confirmation says when a run was cut short.

While rows of the table are being made (a run that fits on the page you are on, or a row’s own Generate button), paging, the filters and the page size cannot be changed. A run over several pages is not tied to the table, so you can still browse while it goes. Ticked rows and each row's own choices (a typed instruction, a renamed product, a preset) belong to the page you are on and are cleared when you move to another page, even when you come back to it. The filters and the toolbar settings stay, and images already made are saved and show again.

›Do I have to keep the page open during a run?

Keep the Bulk Generate page open while a run goes, because the page starts the products a few at a time. If you open another page of the app during a run, the app asks before you leave. What happens to images that were already started if you leave anyway is explained under “What happens if a generation fails?” in Pricing.

Images and quality

›What image styles are available?

The Presets menu has three shot sets (Essentials, Full listing and Complete, which make 3, 5 and 7 images) and nine single styles: With Model, Studio / Clean, Flatlay, Lifestyle / Cozy, Outdoor / Nature, Dark & Moody, Minimalist / Modern, Vibrant / Pop Art and In Action. For a row set to Dark & Moody or Vibrant / Pop Art you can also choose a backdrop or describe your own.

›Can I choose who models my product?

Yes. The app includes seven built-in characters (Mary, Sophia, Amara, Elena, Yuki, Priya and Lucia); all are women. For anyone else, create an AI portrait by choosing gender, ethnicity, skin tone, hair and age, or upload a photo of a person who has agreed to it. A portrait costs 4 credits, which are returned if it cannot be made; uploading a photo is free. Characters you create or upload are listed, and can be deleted, only in your store, and you can reuse them across your products.

›What resolution do I get?

There are four quality levels: Medium (4 credits per image), High (12), Ultra (18) and Ultra 4K (24). High and Ultra ask for 2K output and Ultra 4K asks for 4K; Medium does not ask for a specific size. The provider decides the final pixel size, and the app does not promise one.

›The result does not look right. What can I do?

Regenerate from the gallery. It makes a new image and costs credits again; every finished image stays in the gallery, so you can compare them and keep the one you prefer. If a product type consistently comes out wrong, add a short instruction in the prompt field describing what the image should show, and tell us so we can improve the defaults.

›Will the generated image match my actual product?

Your product's main photo is the reference, and the prompt asks the AI to keep the product's design, colors and branding. It is still AI output and can differ from the real product, so review each image before publishing. You are responsible for what appears on your store representing the product accurately.

Publishing to your store

›Does publishing replace my existing product photo?

Only if you ask it to. When you publish, you choose whether the image becomes the main product photo or is added as an additional image. If it becomes the main photo, the old one moves down; it is not deleted. If Shopify does not let the app move the new image to the first position, it stays on the product as an additional image. Nothing is overwritten without that choice.

›Is alt text added?

Yes. Alt text is generated from the product title and the image style and is attached when the image is published. You cannot edit it in the app; change it in Shopify afterwards.

›Where do the images live before I publish them?

In the app's gallery for each product. They are stored at a link that anyone who has it can open. They stay in the gallery until you delete them, whether or not you have published them, or until 14 days after you uninstall the app. Nothing is added to your store until you click Publish.

Pricing

›How does pricing work?

The app runs on prepaid credits rather than a monthly subscription. You buy credits, and each generation costs credits according to the quality level you picked. The credits per image for each quality level are shown in the Quality menu on the Bulk Generate page. The price of a credit pack and any volume discount are shown on the Credits page before you pay.

›Do I get any free credits to try the app?

A new store gets 50 free credits once, to try the app. Credits you buy later are separate.

›What happens if a generation fails?

If the image provider reports that an image failed, or the image is still not made and saved after 15 minutes, the app cancels it and returns its credits to your balance, and the Credits page shows a refund. A finished image you do not like is not refunded, and Regenerate costs credits again.

You do not have to stay on the Bulk Generate page for that. Images that were already started finish in the background even if you close or reload the page or leave it for another page of the app: the app saves each one when the image provider finishes it, normally within a few minutes, and the images show in their rows when you come back to the page. Products that were not started yet are not generated, and they are not charged. If the credits of a failed image did not come back, or you see a charge you do not understand, email [email protected] and we will review it.

›Is there a subscription or a minimum?

No subscription and no monthly minimum. The smallest purchase is 100 credits ($5.00). You buy credits when you need them, and unused credits stay in your balance while the app is installed.

Data and privacy

›Can the app see my customers or orders?

No. The app requests only product read and write access. It has no permission that would let it read customers, orders, or payment information.

›Do you train AI models on my product images?

No. We do not use your product images or product data to train, fine-tune or improve any model. The AI providers receive them only to return the result you asked for; how long they keep them is set by their own terms.

›Which AI services process my images?

Product images are generated by the NanoBanana API, which receives links to the product's main photo (and the character photo for model shots) plus a text prompt. The prompt is written by xAI from the product's text details; xAI never receives images. Replicate generates the portraits for characters you create with Create new and receives only a text description. Generated images and portraits are stored on Cloudflare R2. The privacy policy lists what each one receives.

›How do I delete my data?

Delete individual images from the gallery, and characters you made from the character picker, at any time. A photo you uploaded for a character is held by a separate upload service, so deleting the character may not remove the photo there.

Uninstalling the app starts a 14-day countdown. Your images, characters and saved prompts are deleted automatically 14 days after you uninstall, and, if we have an email address for your store, we email it on the day you uninstall and again on day 7 and day 13. To have them deleted sooner, or if you uninstalled before this schedule started, email [email protected]. The privacy policy lists what is kept (the credit records, without product names) and for how long.

›What happens to my images if I uninstall?

For 14 days nothing is deleted: reinstall the app in that time and your images, characters and credit balance are all still there. After 14 days your images are deleted from our storage and our records; we email you a reminder on day 7 and day 13 first. Images already published to your products stay in Shopify and are unaffected. To keep an image you have not published, publish it to a product before you uninstall.

Support

›How do I get help?

Email [email protected]. Include your store domain and, if it is about a specific image, the product name. That is usually enough to reproduce the problem without any further back and forth.

›Can you add a feature or a style I need?

Ask. Product categories with specific requirements are the kind of thing that can be added as a preset.
